God has blessed us with many talents - including the gift of music! The choirs at Lutheran High School exist to glorify God with our talents and to be good stewards of those talents.
Soli Deo Gloria!
Lutheran High School has three curricular choirs that students may be members of: Men’s Chorus, Women’s Chorus, and Chamber Choir.
-
Men’s Chorus and Women’s Chorus is where the foundation for proper singing technique and music literacy is built. Students learn how to breathe with their diaphragm, shape vowels, master diction and related skills as they progress towards advanced singing. Students also learn how to read music, decipher rhythm, and communicate in the language of music. Appreciation for a variety of musical styles is taught. Each class will focus on unique singing challenges in the male and female developing voice. Men’s Chorus and Women’s Chorus is open to all students regardless of musical background.
-
Chamber Choir offers the opportunity for students to be challenged in their music making at the advanced level. Singing and musicianship skills are refined and the student's God-given talents are developed to the very best of their ability. This auditioned group has the privilege of being a very visible ambassador for Lutheran High school in and around the Indianapolis area as well as throughout North America. Members of this group perform music from all time periods and genres, and continually work on their sight-reading and rhythm reading skills.
